Our beloved Yolanda Cisneros went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the age of 84. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 12, 1938, to David Chavez, Sr., and Concepcion L. Chavez.
Mrs. Cisneros was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Cisneros, Sr. She is survived by her three brothers, Felix Chavez, Sr., Juan Chavez (Anita), David Chavez and loving children, David Cisneros, Jr., Carla Martinez (Tony), and Carol Tays (Juan), along with her grandchildren, Jessica Duran (Joshua), David Cisneros III, Andrea Araiza (Mark), Anthony Martinez, Jorrie Tays, Jalen Tays, step great-granddaughters Hayden and Emma Duran, and numerous nephews and nieces.
She and her loving husband were proud 1957 graduates of Lanier High School, where she also served as a Captain on the Lanier Blue Jackets Drill Team. They continued their special bond with former classmates as members of the Fabulous Fifties Club. Her passion for children and education led her to work as a pre-K teacher's aid and librarian at St. Philip of Jesus School. It was at SPJ Church where she was baptized and remained an active parishioner throughout her life.
Mrs. Cisneros was a strong, faithful, and beautiful woman. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and "Tia", who always put her family first.
She will also be remembered as a great seamstress, gardener, and a very vocal sports fan who cheered for the Cowboys, Spurs, Longhorns, and any team her children or grandchildren played for…often getting the attention of the officials.
She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her and will forever be in our hearts.
May she rest in peace.
