William Henry Vials, Jr. was born in Houston, Texas, on December 19, 1945, where he lived until he was three years old. He then moved to San Antonio where he lived the rest of his life. He died July 21st after an extended bout with pneumonia.
After graduating from Central Catholic High School, he attended the University of Texas, where he received a degree in Business Administration. With his friend Jimmy Maurer he started a construction business. They renovated homes and did general construction projects for a number of years. He also worked for Alamo Fire Works during their July and December seasons for many years and for ABC Linen Service in several capacities in the 1970s.
Will was a strong supporter of his family. Though he never married, he attended all the holiday celebrations with them. He was especially kind to his four nephews, Brian, Patrick and Kevin Crosby and Christopher Vials and was godfather to two of them. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Anne Crosby and her husband Tony, and his brother Peter Jerome Vials and his wife Judy.
He took family responsibility seriously, helping to care for his parents, William and Dorothy, when they could no longer manage alone. He never forgot a birthday, always sent a card or called, which all of us looked forward to. He will be remembered as a good friend who was always ready to help.
