Virginia Ramos Rodriguez, born January 11th, 1926, in Corsicana, Texas, has been lifted into the arms of our Lord on May 12, 2017, after devoting 91 years of life to her family and friends.

In September 1946, she married a handsome man in uniform named Charles.  They celebrated 62 years of marriage together, raising four sons and one daughter.  In 2006, the couple moved from San Antonio to the Rio Grande Valley to live out their golden years with their daughter and family.  Charles was called to rest in 2008, and Virginia continued to call Harlingen home.

Vicky, as her sister, Helen, always called her, worked many years at the downtown Joske's Department Store and later worked as a seamstress at the St. Anthony Hotel, retiring in 2006.  When her children were young, she would devote her spare hours volunteering as Cub Scout Den mother, classroom mother, or as a member of her children's campus PTA.

With her church family, she was a member of the Altar Society and Mariachi Choir at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  She was always willing to lend a hand, cook a delicious meal, provide a baked item, or fulfill a special need.

Virginia is survived by her sons: Charles (Joyce), Salvador (Yolanda), Federico (Mary Jane), and Mark; her daughter, Barbara (Lee) Guerra; sister, Helen Martinez; sisters-in-law: Josephine Gomez and Margaret Ramos; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews-all of whom she loved like her own and who will miss her eternally.
