Viola Diana Cavallini was peacefully called to her celestial home surrounded by her entire family on March 15 at age 85. A native of San Antonio, she graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word and received a masters degree at UTSA and was a bi-lingual education teacher for 20 years in San Antonio Independent School District. She was an active member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church where, among other things, she was particularly and faithfully dedicated to the development and direction of the Adoration Chapel. She is the beloved wife of 62 years to Manlio D. Cavallini. She will be remembered for her loving care and guidance as wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Irvin and Olivia Irvin Gonzalez; her brother, Eugene Irvin, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Publio Cavallini of San Diego, California. She is survived by children, Dominic Eugene Cavallini and wife, Deborah Ann, Maria Grazia Cavallini and husband, Kevin McCullough, Adrian Joseph Cavallini and wife, Debra Ann McDonald, Maria Felicia Cavallini and husband, James Taylor; her sister, Gloria Gonzales; granchildren, Alyssia Lowe and husband, Nathaniel, Anthony, Joseph, Adrian, Francesca, David, and Dominic; her great granchildren, Isabella, Evon, Selah, and Hannah. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Visitation will begin on Thursday evening, March 20, at 6:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Road. Visitation will resume on Friday morning, March 21, at 10:00 AM with the Funeral Mass to be offered at 11:00 AM at St. Dominic's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her 2 sons, Dominic E. Cavallini and Adrian J. Cavallini and 4 grandsons, David Bonatesta, Joseph M. Cavallini, Dominic E. Cavallini, Jr., and Adrian V. Cavallini. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78228.
