Vernon D. Stump, Jr., aged 88, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025. Born on November 1, 1937, Vernon proudly served in the United States Air Force for three decades, dedicating his life to service. Following his military career, he spent 11 years working in the semiconductor industry, where he made lasting contributions to his field.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65+ years, Jacquelyn L. Stump, and their son, Ryan Stump. Vernon was a loving husband, father, and friend, known for his unwavering kindness and generosity. He had a heart of gold, always ready to lend a hand to those in need, and his family and friends could always count on him to be there when it mattered most.

Vernon's legacy of love, service, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A small service will be held in his honor on December 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter 2.
