Ventura DeLuna Moore (Mary) passed peacefully from this world and into the arms of her Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Ventura was born to Gertrudes and Asension DeLuna on July 14, 1932 in San Antonio TX and was a life-long resident of San Antonio.
Ventura was preceded in death by her daughter Sylviana Locke (Shawn) and is survived by her sons David (Cindy), Michael (Kristy) and Eric (Sylvia), six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as her sisters Dora and Felipa.
She was a lifelong devotee and and active participant in the catholic church and was also a member of the Guadalupanas Organization at St Anthony de Padua for many years. She relied heavily on her spiritual framework to guide her through good times and bad, and she was a good listener and a shoulder to lean upon when friends and family needed her.
Ventura also looked forward to and enjoyed all family gatherings through the years. She would get caught up on family news and happenings, offering her wit, wisdom and humor for all in attendance.
She was an avid reader, she also very much enjoyed games, crossword puzzles, and wordplay. Some of this competitive spirit spilled over into her love of sports where she was a loyal Cowboys and Spurs super fan.
FUNERAL SERVICES
Services will be held at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church on Thursday August 27, 2020 with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass celebration at 11:00a.m. While no one will be turned away, due to COVID, the church has attendance guidelines and are asking that only close family/friends attend. Efforts are being made to host a live stream for those who would like to participate but cannot attend; live stream viewing of the funeral mass will be available at:

Interment will follow at San Fernando #2 Cemetery and due to COVID will be a small, private family gathering.
The family would like extend a special thanks to Diana Almanza and her team at Four Winds Hospice Care. Their care, compassion and professionalism not only eased our mother's passing, but also provided comfort to our family.
Thank you as well to her Senior Circle Friends for sponsoring the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for Mary to be held on October 14 at 8:30 AM at St. Anthony.
MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Anthony de Padua Catholic Church with a note/memo specifying St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, providers of a community service that Ventura cared about.
