Toni S. Morales 95, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on May 10, 1925 to her parents, Eulogio and Juanita Salinas.
She was a proud graduate of Brackenridge High School in 1944. She worked at Siegel's Canadian Department store downtown as a bookkeeper. She met her husband Lee G. Morales Jr. in April of 1947 at the Battle of Flowers Parade and within 3 months married him on July 13, 1947. Wow! Love at first sight! Who would have known her destiny! She enjoyed playing softball, volleyball, and badminton and was undeliably unbeatable.
She went on to volunteer as room mother and other various duties at St. Leo's Catholic School from 1970-1977. In 1978, she continued her career and was employed by HISD as an instructional aide. She was also a librarian aide at Harlandale Middle School, Carroll Bell Elementary, and St. Phillip of Jesus Catholic School. Upon her retirement of 15 years at HISD she also was a member of TAMU Aggies Wife Club, VFW Post 837 Highland Hills Southeast, and Southwest General.
Every Saturday she would go to the beauty salon to get her hair and fingernails done and afterwards she would attend Mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church at 5pm. She then enjoyed dinner at the Texan Restaurant and would order her shrimp plate and a shrimp cocktail, with a glass of wine, and for an evening nightcap she would go to Marilus Restaurant and Bar and order her margaritas which 2 was her limit. On Sundays, she would walk to Don's Molino and get barbacoa tamales with all the trimmings. In the afternoon from 4-5pm she would go to Royal Palace to line dance. She enjoyed watching the San Antonio Spurs only because she loved Tony Parker. Wow! Wow! Wow! She loved everyone and had a million dollar smile with her red lipstick. Who could forget that? Wherever she would go, she would light up the room and was the life of the party.
She was the World's Best Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She will be dearly missed but not ever forgotten. In God We Trust and be in Everlasting Peace. God Bless You Tiger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee G. Morales, Jr. and a son, Bruce Morales. She is survived by her children: Lee Morales III, Philip Morales, Jennifer Galan, Melissa Vasquez and Jessica Morales; brother, Johnny Salinas (Norma); many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
