Sr. Victoria Trejo, FMA, age 85, passed away January 3, 2017 in San Antonio, TX.

She was born in Mexico, D.F. to Antonio Trejo and Victoria Alegria de Trejo. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Salvador Trejo Alegria.

She is survived by five brothers: Jose Trejo, Alfonso Trejo, Mateo Marquez, Luis Marquez, and Javier Marquez; three sisters: Madre Angelica Trejo, HFIC, Madre Alma Rosa Trejo, HFIC, and Rosa Maria Marquez de Gensinki, numerous nieces and nephews.

During her first 21 years of religious life Sr. Victoria happily served in various schools in Mexico, New Jersey and Texas as an elementary teacher and assistant to the resident students. Her strongest inclination was her love for drama and putting on plays with her students.

She made her first vows in 1951 and shortly afterward Sr. Victoria began to experience symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis which slowly sapped her physical strength and agility. In 1995 she was transferred to the Provincial House in San Antonio, TX for better care. Notwithstanding her physical condition, Sr. Victoria lived the rest of her life in joyful witness of fidelity to her Salesian vocation and spent hours in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

FUNERAL SERVICES

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Provincial House, 6019 Buena Vista St., San Antonio, TX. Rosary at 7 p.m. The Mass of Resurrection will be on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Provincial House. Interment at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2.
