Sister Bernadette (formerly Mary Cabrini) Phillipp, CDP, entered eternal life August 16, 2025. She was 96. She was born March 4, 1929, in La Feria, Texas to Albert Joseph and Sophie Teresa (Zimmerer) Phillipp.

She was taught by the Sisters of Divine Providence (CDP) at Providence Academy, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She began to discern her vocation after she visited the convent in San Antonio, Texas. She professed first vows as a Sister of Divine Providence on June 22, 1948.

Sister Bernadette served as a school nurse, then a medical technologist for 26 years. In 2002-2004, she lived in India as a wellness mentor for Art of Living. She continued in this ministry until recently. Sister Bernadette is held dear by her many friends, family and her Sisters of Divine Providence.

The Rosary is Sunday, August 31 st , at 4:30 p.m.; Wake, at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, September 1 st , at 11:00 a.m.

All services will be in Annunciation Chapel at Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center.
