Sister Crispina Parraguirre Roldán HJ, of the Hermanas Josefinas Delegation Community in San Antonio, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 9, 2018.

As the youngest of six brothers and sisters, she was born to parents Fausto Parraguirre Hernandez and Maria Maclovia Roldán, on October 25, 1944 in Tlachichuca, Puebla.

Sister Crispina entered the Hermanas Josefinas Congregation in 1958 and received her religious vows as a nun in January 1965.  She studied in Puebla at the Esparza University through 1971 and served in the Mission of Huautla until 1973. She was assigned to serve in Joliet, Illinois in 1974 as Teacher to school children.  She was promoted to Mother Superior in 1980 and served in Joliet through 1999.

She was assigned to the Santa Maria de Guadalupe Delegation of the Hermanas Josefinas in San Antonio, Texas.   In her many responsibilities in San Antonio, one of her most passionate assignments for which she will be remembered was the direction and overseeing of the construction for a new convent for the aging Josefinas Sisters.  Armed with unfaltering faith, a loving religious community, devoted volunteers, and community support, Casa Cesarita was completed, and blessed in March 2016, after 5 years of hard work and dedication.

Sister Crispina shared her life with everyone, healthy or sick.  One was always welcomed with open arms, a warm hug or just a beautiful smile.  She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, religious community and most especially by the Hermanas Josefinas from the Santa Maria de Guadalupe Delegation, Casa San Jose and Casa Cesarita.
