Sister Stella Marie Flores, born Elida Flores, on November 11, 1932 in Raymondville, Texas, died on January 1, 2017 at the age of 84. She was a Sister of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for 58 years.

She spent her religious life in education, pastoral ministry, and social services in San Antonio, Austin, Del Rio, Houston, and Floresville in Texas; Raton, New Mexico, and Yukon, Oklahoma. Sister Stella loved teaching and working with youth. She recognized everyone as a friend. She had a deep faith in Our Lady and St. Michael the Archangel. Her later years were spent in ministry at Haven for Hope and SAMMinistries in San Antonio.

Sr. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Isabel (Garcia) Flores; 4 brothers and 7 sisters. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 4, at 1:00 P.M. with the Funeral Mass to be offered at 1:30 P.M. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the church.
