Sister Margaret Gerken, age 87, entered into eternal life on November 4, 2014, at The Village at Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Dyersville Iowa, on July 28, 1927, to William and Ida (Diers) Gerken. Sister Margaret entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in 1947, professing her final vows in 1955. Sister Margaret served in the Congregation's educational ministry in Louisiana, Texas and Chimbote, Peru. Sister Margaret is survived and dearly missed by her brother Edward and sister-in-law Lynn Gerken, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in the U.S. and by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. Funeral Services will be held at the Village at Incarnate Word, 4707 Broadway. Vigil Service: November 5, 2014 at 6:30p.m. Mass of Christian Burial: November 6, 2014 at 11:a.m. in the Chapel of the Incarnate Word. Interment in the Convent Cemetery.
