Sister Kieran O'Shaughnessy, CSB, entered eternal life on Saturday, June 16, 2018.  She was born in Labasheeda, Co. Clare, Ireland, on June 10, 1926 and given the name Margaret.

She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Brigid (Brigidines) in Tullow, Ireland, and made her final profession in 1953, the year that the Brigidines came to San Antonio.  She joined the founding sisters here in 1955.  Throughout her years as a teacher she taught at St. Paul and St. Luke Schools in San Antonio, and in Beloit, Wisconsin, finishing her teaching ministry at St. Brigid's Kindergarten.

In later years she provided pastoral care as a eucharistic minister to residents of Morningside Ministries.

She is survived by her sister, Alice Moran, a niece, and nephews and their families in Ireland, and by her Brigidine Sisters, and by relatives and friends.  She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all, especially her Brigidine Associate Group, and by many St. Paul Alumni with whom she kept in touch throughout the years.

The Brigidine Sisters, and her family, would like to extend their very sincere gratitude to the Sisters of Divine Providence, the administration, nurses, and staff of McCullough Hall for their loving care of Sr. Kieran over recent years. Gratitude is also extended to Christus Hospice for their care in her final days.
