Ruth Ramirez Siller, 92, went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2025. Born January 23, 1933 in Cedar Creek, Texas (Bastrop County) to Pete Ramirez and Francisca Martinez Ramirez, Ruth grew up grounded in faith, family, and service.
On December 16, 1950, she married her beloved husband, Ismael "Mayo" Siller, and together they built a loving life in San Antonio. They also cherished time at their ranch in Dripping Springs, where countless family memories were made around shared meals, hard work, and laughter.
For more than 52 years, Ruth was a devoted member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish. She taught Baptism classes for over 25 years, and her greatest joy was serving in the St. Mary Magdalen Prayer Group, where she also led as prayer group leader. Ruth proudly facilitated many Life in the Spirit seminars and, for numerous years, served as registration coordinator for the annual Catholic Charismatic Conference in San Antonio. Through these ministries she formed deep friendships and touched countless hearts with her kindness, steadiness, and prayerful presence.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ismael ("Mayo") Siller; her parents, Pete and Francisca Ramirez; her sisters Nora Saavedra, Lupe Acosta, Dolores Quintero Leos, and Charlotte Alba; and her brothers Jesse and Pete Ramirez.
She is survived by her children: Ismael ("Mayito") Siller Jr. and his wife Diane ("Gina") Siller; Olga DeLaRosa; and Emily Saenz and her husband Eddie Saenz. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Stephanie Siller, Kimberly Shah, Catherine Siller, Laura DeLaRosa, Paul DeLaRosa, Rebecca Saenz, and Brandon Saenz; and by her great-grandchildren Kavi Shah, Joshua DeLaRosa, Lily DeLaRosa, and Brooklyn Riojas-Siller.
Ruth will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her welcoming spirit, and the quiet, steady way she cared for others. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved, the parish she served, and the many lives she gently lifted toward God.
