On December 2 nd , 2020 heaven gained an amazing angel, Rosario "Chayo" Cárdenas. Born on April 15, 1954 in San Antonio, TX, Chayo was a caring daughter, loving sister, incredible wife, amazing mom, proud abuela, supportive tía, and wonderful friend. Chayo spent her life caring for those around her, while placing God and family above everything else.
Chayo was a graduate of Fox Tech High School and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. She was an integral part in the success of RTC Floristry Inc. as the public relations and promotions liaison. She also dedicated many years of her life in retail services, where she met many of her life-long friends.
In 1978, she married Ramón Tomás Cárdenas and they shared two sons Juan Carlos – wife Jessica, and Marco Antonio – wife Carla. They soon welcomed three beautiful granddaughters, Isabella Mercedes, Elena Louisa, and Marissa Anahí. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and granddaughters, memories that will be cherished forever.
Chayo had an energy that made those around her feel special. Whether at work or during family events, a smile and hug from Chayo just brightened your day. She was a ray of sunshine, who made everyone around her be at ease. Chayo will be greatly missed but her impact on the lives around her will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Mata Sánchez; mother-in-law, Mercedes H. Cárdenas; father-in-law Tomás T. Cárdenas; and brothers-in-law Richard Martínez and David Rangel.
In addition to her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, and granddaughters, she is survived by her Mother, Blanca Estella Sánchez; sisters Maria Antonietta Sánchez Martínez and Marta Sánchez-Dallam – husband John; brothers Joe Michael Sánchez and Frederick Sánchez; sisters-in-law Irene Rangel, Leticia Martínez – husband Ernesto, and Elizabeth Cienega – husband Tomas; brothers-in-law Leonel Cárdenas – wife Cynthia and Gerardo Cárdenas – wife Susana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
