Ronald Frederick Reina, born October 30, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home on May 9, 2021 at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Federico Soto Reina and Alice Elisa Ehrlich Reina, and brother Russell Francis Reina. Ronald, also known as Ronnie, Ron, Popi/Papi and Dad is survived by his loving children: Monica Reina, David Reina, Camille Reina, and Les Peña; sisters and brother: Eileen Reina-Mason, Gilda Klonek (spouse Ralph) and Randall Reina (spouse Bonnie); grandchildren: Aaron Rodriguez, Jeremy Rodriguez, Chreston Houston, Giovanni Ramirez, Luciano Cantu, and Amore Cantu, great-grandchildren, Addisyn Rodriguez and Grayson Rodriguez, plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ronald received his education at Little Flower Catholic School. After graduating in 1960, he joined the United States Navy and served four years doing various jobs on a ship (USS Firedrake) that traveled around the world. He married his childhood sweetheart, Lucy, in 1964 and moved to Long Beach, California where he landed a great job with Douglas Aircraft Company. He enjoyed the California lifestyle and made many friends. In 1966, Ronald and Lucy had their first daughter, Monica, and two years later their son, David was born. In 1968, Ronald moved his wife and children back home to San Antonio to be closer to family. The family expanded in 1970 when their daughter, Camille, was born. In 1985, Ronald married his second wife, Lesbia, and was blessed with an extended family to love. Ronald (Popi/Papi/Dad) was a rock, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was proud of all of them and always supported them during the good and bad times. Ron loved Rock and Roll music, and he was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. He enjoyed listening to his favorite bands, and spending time watching games surrounded by his family and friends.

Ronald Frederick Reina touched many lives. He worked hard, played hard and loved hard.

FUNERAL SERVICES

The family invites you to celebrate his life on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 6 p.m. for a Memorial Rosary at The Angelus Funeral Home, 1119 N. St. Mary's St, San Antonio, TX 78215.

Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 9 a.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower, 1750 N. Zarzamora, San Antonio, TX 78201.

Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
