Obituary

Roger Almaraz passed suddenly at the age of 54 on Wednesday April 1, 2020.  Roger was born on January 11, 1966 in San Antonio, Texas and was a 1984 graduate of Thomas Edison High School.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Alejandro & Consuelo Almaraz and sister Irma A. Worley.

Roger married the love of his life Kimberly K. Sandoval in April 1995. During their 25-year marriage they welcomed their daughters Madisyn Mychelle, Ashtynn Krystelle & Morgyn Bryelle.

Roger was a dedicated husband, his and Kimberly's love story spanned over 32 years.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife to various parts of California and enjoyed their frequent local trips to the Texas Wine Region in the Hill Country.

Roger was the best Daddy to his daughters Madisyn, Ashtynn & Morgyn and had enormous pride in being a "girl dad". He actively participated in their sports training and endeavors for court and sand volleyball, softball and track, instilling in them focus, determination, grace and a strong work ethic. He looked forward to taking his family on annual summer vacations to Disneyland, various parts of California and numerous RV camping trips throughout the Texas Hill Country, typically on the Frio or Guadalupe Rivers.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboy & San Antonio Spurs fan, a master at the BBQ pit, awesome landscaper, and had a true zest for life. His drive and motivation were always his family and ensuring he met their every need; his motto was work hard and play hard and that he certainly did.

Roger is also survived by his sister Sonya A. Sanchez (George); brothers Alex Almaraz, Armando Almaraz & Miguel Almaraz (Vivianne); father in law Joe M. Sandoval (Sandra), mother in law Jeanette G. Esparza (Mel), brothers in law Jeffrey J. Sandoval (Grace), Steven A. Lopez and sister in law Lori Elizabeth Sandoval of Valencia, California. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and life long friends.

A private service will be held for his immediate family on Thursday, April 9, 2020 and a celebration of Roger's life will occur at a future date.
