Rev. Rodolfo Enrique Ruiz, 87, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, died on February 9, 2018. He was born in Cortazar, Gto, Mexico on November 7, 1931.

He entered St. Anthony's High School Seminary in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and was ordained a Catholic priest as a member of the Franciscan order in 1956. He ministered in Mexico until 1962, when he was sent to Rome for studies. He received a Licentiate degree (STL) in Sacred Theology in 1964, and a Doctorate (STD) in Sacred Theology from the Universidad Pontificia of Salamanca, Spain, in 1967. He ministered in churches and educational institutions in Mexico and the United States.

He is survived by his brother, Daniel Ruiz, in Mexico, and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be presided by Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, M.Sp.S., at St. Agnes Parish in San Antonio, on Thursday, February 15, at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will be in San Fernando Cemetery II.
