He was also a dedicated member of his church and school community. He served on the school board at St. Margaret Mary Catholic School, was actively involved in various Booster Clubs at St. Margaret Mary, Central Catholic High School and Providence High School, and volunteered his time at countless school events and activities. He participated in Family Life ministries, served as a Eucharistic Minister, was an ACTS brother, and was a 4th degree Sir Knight, member of Knights of Columbus Council 9967 - Holy Trinity and Assembly 3191 - Holy Trinity. Beyond his professional and religious life, Richard was a devoted spouse, parent, grandparent and friend. He cherished spending time with his family - playing games, watching TV, dining out, traveling, and attending various school and athletic activities. Richard was a witty, kind, and loving man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Richard had a passion for Disney, music, and dogs. As a child, he was a member of the Mickey Mouse Club and he carried that love of Disney with him for his entire life. He was an accomplished trumpetist in his high school days and shared his love of all different kinds of music with his family. Dogs were a big part of life - whether he was raising them, breeding them, or just spoiling them, he always had a dog nearby.
Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Celeste, his son Adam and his wife Becky, his daughter Alyson and her husband Peter, his grandchildren, Cameron and Dylan (Alyson) and several nephews.
