Ricardo Valadez, born June 22, 1931, went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2015. Ricardo, military police officer, served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired a civil servant from Defense Mapping Agency at Fort Sam Houston. Ricardo, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Teresa Carreon Valadez. Children (spouses): Ric (Heather); Cynthia (Mike); Victor; Patti (Rick); Yvonne (Gregg); and Barbara (Mike). Grandchildren: Michael Zachary, Vanessa, Nicolette, Kyle, Kevin, Shannon, Mark, Alexis, Brett and great grandchild Liam. Ricardo loved dancing jitterbug with Teresa and tinkering with carpentry and calligraphy. As a young man he boxed with the Golden Gloves and later played in pool tournaments. FUNERAL SERVICES Visitation begins Wednesday at 5:00 PM, followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM in the Angelus Chapel. Funeral begins Thursday at 9:30 AM in the Angelus Chapel. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Christmas Child with Samaritans Purse.
