Obituary

Reynaldo R. Lopez came into this world on April 27, 1938 and entered into the gates of heaven on January 23, 2024 at the age of 85 years.

Daddy was a beautiful soul.  Affectionately known as Mr. Rayco, Daddy had an abundance of friends and family that dearly loved him and will miss his warm caring personality.  He had a smile that will never be forgotten.

After retiring from Kelly AFB, Daddy's dream came to fruition when he purchased a building and opened Rayco Sign Shop.  A trade he learned while attending Sidney Lanier High School.  It was Rayco that did the Beto cap for Coach Pop (not too many people know that!)  It became a family business that he ran with the help of his son Ray Jr. by his side for the next 37 years and it continues today.

He enjoyed life through his travels, deep sea fishing, sometimes golfing but mostly going to the casino.   He was always ready to go for a "ride" which was code for Kickapoo.  Daddy loved his Lone Star beer, BBQ's, eating peanuts, watching westerns and his favorite movies The Wild, Wild, West and The Godfather Parts 1 and 2.

He was the most devoted caring husband and father anyone could have wished for.  He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Maria Elena; his daughter, Maritza and her husband David Muniz; his son, Ray Jr.; granddaughter, Samantha Rae; sisters, Oralia Del Rio, Yolanda Fernandez, and Sonia Quintana (Arnulfo); brother, Jesse (Tootsie); and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his son Jesse.

We already miss you and love you so much.  Life will never be the same without you.

Until we meet again, Rest in Peace Daddy.
