Obituary

Reynaldo P. Flores was born on January 6th, 1956, in San Antonio Texas to Eva and Domingo Flores. He was the 7th of 9 children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Guillermo P. Soto Jr.; and grandson, Ryan Matthew Montellano. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Jessica Danik; Alfred Montellano and his partner, Allana Huerta; and his baby, Dominique Flores; and his grandchildren, Nicolas Casanova, Andrew Danik, Josiah Huerta, and Maxcimo Montellano. He is also survived by his siblings, Rachel Lugo, Maria Soto, Yolanda and Juan Nerio, Albert Soto, Gloria and Larry Kendall, Esther and Eddie Ochoa, Ruben and Arleen Flores, Roger and Rosie Flores, and numerous nieces and nephews.

With his jet-black hair and Barry White-esque voice, he charmed his devoted and passionate wife, Patricia. For 40 years they raised their children, swindled their family in loteria, and lit up the dance floors of San Antonio.

From a young age, Ray accompanied his father on produce deliveries and sold fireworks out of the family home. Starting at The Flame and working his way to the International House of Pancakes, Ray had a long and storied career in the hospitality and food industry. From produce to pancakes, he oversaw hotel kitchens and restaurants in various leadership roles until his retirement.

When he wasn't chasing down ice cream trucks for his grandchildren, he could be found filling his birdfeeders, always on the lookout for the cardinals that would drop in from time to time. Ray was happiest fishing with those closest to him on the lake and cheering for the Cowboys and the Spurs. Clint Eastwood's biggest fan and Tom Selleck's biggest hater, he loved westerns and passionately supported the WWE during the Attitude Era, going so far as to name his first of many dachshunds, Stoney, after Stone Cold Steven Austin. His other dogs included Charlie, Penelope, Delilah, Miles, and Darla.

Ray went by many names, including Nino, Tio Pickle, and Money Man, but to his family he was Biscuit, Pookie, Daddy, Dad, Pops, and Grandpa. He couldn't help but leave an impression and will be missed by all those who love him.
