It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved brother, Rene Montalvo.   He passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the age of 58.  He was born on January 27, 1965 to Rudolph and Mary Montalvo.

Rene graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1982.  He attended the University of Texas (BIG Longhorn fan) and completed his bachelor's degree at Our Lady of the Lake University.  He completed his Master of Education Guidance Counseling in 2016 from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Rene worked several jobs as a social worker early on, and he went on to teaching math at many schools.  These past few years he was a middle school counselor in Cotulla and Floresville, TX.  He had a passion for teaching and helping develop young minds.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Rudy and Mary Montalvo.  He is survived by his sister, Diana Montalvo-Flores, (Roger Barajas) his niece Bryana Rae Flores, nephew Nicholas Flores, numerous cousins and friends.
