Rene G. Mendez passed peacefully in San Antonio Texas on August 5, 2016 at the age of 62.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Juan and Guadalupe Mendez;
Ignacio and Dolores Longoria.

He is survived by his parents Rene A. and Hortense Mendez; his siblings Roland (Blanca),
Cynthia Adcock, Gabriel, Andrew; Godmother Hilda Keyler; and a loving family.

Rene was born on May 21, 1954. While young he was a member of the Boy Scouts achieving the rank of "Star". He graduated from Edison High School in 1972, participated in the JROTC.  He received trade certification in 1974 from San Antonio Trade School. Concurrent to HS, Rene worked for Pancho's Mexican Restaurant and Handy Andy having been the manager of bottle collection at the age of 16. After certification, he put his skills to use at Montgomery Wards, the City of San Antonio,
the Botanical Gardens, and City Corp. In 1997, Rene began a 21 year career at IBC bank
where he left an indelible imprint.

His gentle and giving nature with be forever missed.

MEMORIAL SERVICES

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. at The Angelus Chapel.
Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, August 12, at  10:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Services will conclude at the church.
