Rene Garza went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 31, 1949 in Arkansas.  He was the son of the late Rev. Tomas Garza and the late Paquita Garza.

Rene was an avid farmer and loved being at the ranch. He also worked at the family business, Garza Lumber Co. He worked in the day to day operations and was always ready to give assistance and suggestions when people asked for help. He loved to work with his hands, and could fix just about anything. He loved drawing and architecture. He helped to design and build homes too. He also enjoyed watching westerns, old movies and classic cars.

He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 47 years, Hortense M. Garza. Four loving daughters: Lisa J. Garza-Lacey (David), Lydia A. Jesko (Dustan), Sarah Renee Flores (Charles), and Miriam E. Fernandez (Jonathan). One granddaughter Samantha Renee Flores.  Six step grandchildren and numerous extended family.
