RAYMOND VALDEZ, JR.

Raymond Valdez, Jr. went to be with his Lord on August 18, 2017.  He was loved and will be missed dearly by his family and all who knew him.  Raymond attended Fox Tech High School and upon graduation served his country in the United States Army.  After his honorable discharge, Raymond worked at Kelly AFB where he worked his way up from aircraft mechanic to management over F-106 aircraft maintenance as a GS-11.  He achieved this through dedication, hard work, and taking educational courses offered by KAFB.  Raymond married the love of his life, Lydia (Gonzalez) Valdez, 66 years ago, on August 11, 1951.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia; daughters, Lorraine (Ronnie) Bernal, Sandy (Joe) Blanco, Debbie (Gerry) De La Vega, and Peggy (Eddie) Hernandez.  He was a thoughtful and loving husband and father.  Papa will be missed by his 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.  The family is forever grateful for the compassion and love provided by Miros Gonzalez, his caretaker, and the staff of Encompass Hospice Care.

FUNERAL SERVICES
Visitation will begin on Sunday, August 27, at 4:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 5:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, August 28, at 9:30 AM at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
