Prudenciana G. Barragan ("Chanita"), age 100 of San Antonio, TX passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020.
She was born July 12, 1920 the daughter of Antonia and Felix Gomez in El Remolino, Coahuila, Mexico. She was raised in Del Rio, Texas. She married the love of her life Luis M. Barragan in 1946 and moved to San Antonio, TX immediately and remained married until his death in 2009.
She dedicated her life to her husband Luis, and surviving children: Nelva Barragan, Sara Cutbush (Jim), Luis Barragan (Pearl), Rudy Barragan (Mary Ann); 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who had brought great joy to her for many years. She loved to dance and she and Luis made sure they got out every chance they got with friends. They loved traveling and visiting with brothers and sisters and going gambling with them. She had luck with those slots and she knew it. She liked being outdoors taking pride in her yard, still mowing at age 85. She liked watching novelas, Don Francisco for so many years, and on top of the daily news and making sure some of the siblings saw the news. That phone would start ringing right after.
She was a big delight here on earth, she had a great sense of humor, kept us laughing for many years, was very loving and will be greatly missed. She lived a long healthy fun life for many years, and was grateful for it. Now she is in heaven with all her siblings and all the angels, and seeing that we here on earth receive the angels messages. Thank you, to all the caregivers and friends that assisted with our great mom. Love you mom.
