Patricia Ann Weynand Weissler, age 94, whose warmth and strength shaped generations of her family, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, just a week shy of her 95th birthday. As the cherished matriarch of the Weisslers, she was the family's heart and anchor, creating a home filled with love, strong values, faith, and unwavering devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Patricia "Patsy" was born on March 18, 1931, in San Antonio. From the beginning, her smile and warmth lit up a room. As a child, she loved playing games with her dear sister and lifelong best friend, Helen. They often visited the farm where her mother, Lillian, grew up in Goliad, Texas, and enjoyed memorable trips to the coast to see their dear aunts, Vicki and Rose Weynand, in Corpus Christi.
She was bright, a lifelong avid reader, and so gifted in school that she skipped two grades. Her mother, from a family of twelve children, deeply valued education and made sure her daughters found their way to college. Patsy graduated from Incarnate Word College in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics, working her way through college by typing for the administration office.
She married Arthur Charles Weissler on March 31, 1951, in San Antonio. Together they had seven children and built a beautiful life marked by deep Catholic faith, hard work, service to others, and joyful time with family. Their home of 60 years was a gathering place where everyone was welcome, where their children's friends were fed and embraced like family. Weekends were often spent at the family ranch in Biry, Texas, or hosting at the family lake house on Lake LBJ.
Patsy loved people. Curious and inquisitive by nature, she never wanted to miss out on the fun and often stayed up late into the night talking with her children and grandchildren. Rarely without a smile, she brought joy to those around her and made everyone feel seen and valued. She gave people the gift of her full presence and welcomed others with effortless hospitality—delighting in hosting annual wedding anniversary parties, organizing game nights (bridge was her game of choice), and planning themed dinners while lovingly opening her home to family, friends, and even last-minute guests.
An exceptional cook, Patsy expressed her love through food. Her kitchen was known for its delicious meals and family favorites, including her famous cast-iron fried chicken, warm cinnamon rolls, roast beef for Sunday dinner, and angel food cake topped with pink icing. Each Christmas she also shared her baking with neighbors, delivering tins filled with an assortment of delectable homemade cookies. Her table was always full, and anyone who walked through the door was treated like family.
As her children got older, she joined her husband's optical shop as the office manager. She also loved to travel, taking trips to Estes Park, Colorado; Taiwan; Hong Kong; Germany; and her favorite place of all, Paris. A devoted member of St. Luke's Catholic Church for 60 years, her strong faith radiated through every part of her life. She attended daily Mass, served Meals on Wheels, was a member of the parish guild, and supported the Brigidine Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lillian Weynand; her husband of 49 years, Arthur Charles Weissler Sr.; her sister, Helen Mailloux; and her beloved daughter-in-law, Lisa Weissler. She is survived by her seven children: Patti Weissler; Arthur Weissler Jr. and his wife Carol; Nancy Weissler Smith and her husband Scott; Thomas Weissler and his wife Rose; Matthew Weissler and his wife Carole; John Weissler; and Laura Weissler Guglielmo and her husband Kennon.
She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, Lauren Smith Ford (Bennett), Zachary Smith (Sarah), Patrick Smith (Lauren), Erik Weissler, Emilie Kassner (Matt), Kathryn Cloud (Tyler), Megan Kaufmann (Jonathan), Travis Weissler (Samantha), Jakob Weissler (Emilie), Luke Weissler (Elizabeth), Tyler Guglielmo, Cullen Guglielmo (Caroline), Grant Guglielmo, Davis Guglielmo, and Natalie Guglielmo, and 25 great-grandchildren, who adored their Nana with all their hearts.
Her life was a testament to faith, family, and love, and the warmth she created around her table will live on through the many generations she nurtured and inspired.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Dr., San Antonio, Texas 78228, on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The Rosary will be recited prior to the service at 9:00 a.m.
Donations in Patsy's honor may be made to the Compassionate Care Medical Clinic of Corpus Christi, compassionateclinic.org .
