Obituary

Olivia A Arroyo passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side on June 18, 2022, at the age of 74.

Olivia was a devoted, loving, and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  To the family she was always MOM. She enjoyed her children and caring for her grandchildren, she especially took joy with her first great grandson Nathan.

Mom enjoyed watching her shows such as Criminal Minds, Yellowstone and admiring Kevin Costner at his finest. Her favorite color was aqua. And she loved anything with blueberries but her most favorite fruit was watermelon. She enjoyed thrifting, yard sales, being outdoors. She also did love listening to oldies and Tom Jones in which she had an opportunity to see live in concert a couple years ago. Let us not forget her Tejano music, Ram Herrera being her favorite.  She was also a very dedicated San Antonio Spurs fan with her favorite player Manu Ginobili.

Mom was a very strong hard-working woman always putting her children and grandchildren above everything. She always made sure no one ever went without and would always go above and beyond to help us when needed.

Olivia retired from United Healthcare, and she also worked for Kelly AFB for many years. Main position was Data Entry.  After her retirement she stayed home and helped care for her grandchildren and then on to her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Elias Arroyo, her brothers Tony and Lee Arroyo and her sisters, Virginia Gonzales, and Susie Guerrero.

Olivia is survived by her children: (Son) Gerardo "Jerry" Martinez Jr. and his wife Diana Martinez, (Daughter) Christina Martinez and her husband David Garcia Jr.; grandchildren, Evelyn Diaz, her husband Michael Diaz, Gerardo "Jerry" Martinez III his partner Ivy Mainez, Amanda Martinez; great-grandchildren: Nathan Lara, Ariana Diaz and Mateo Martinez.  She is also survived by her ex-husband Gerardo Martinez Sr.
