Olga G. Ramos
(December 23, 1931 - May 31, 2021)
Olga Gonzalez Ramos, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away filled with the love of her family and savior on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Luis Ramos; son Luis Heraldo; parents Otila and Rosalio Gonzalez, Sr.; and was the last survivor of 8 siblings (Elias, Caretina, Victoria, Rosalio, Jr., Ruben, Raul, and Oscar). Originally from La Rosita, TX, Olga relocated to Corpus Christi where she would open and later sell her salon on Port Ave. Olga's marriage to Luis in Corpus Christi preceded their settling in San Antonio, where they would proudly rear and educate their family.
Olga is survived and will be dearly missed by her four loving children--son, Lee Ramos (Loretta); daughters Cindy Forey (David), Sandra White (David), Sonia Longoria (Victor); and five grandchildren whom she adored—Kasserin "Kassi" (Matt) and Savannah Longoria, Elias Forey, and Charley and Jack White; her brother- and sisters-in-law (Rene & Mary Ramos, Irene "Nena" Ramos, Belza E. Ramos, Rosa Gonzalez, and Tina Gonzalez), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Olga always remained in close contact with her extended family in California, New Mexico, Corpus Christi, south Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.
Olga loved trekking cross county and country to enjoy time with her family or try her luck in casinos. Her first-ever flight occurred internationally upon the birth of her eldest grandchild in England. Olga also enjoyed road trips to Louisiana and Amarillo to spend cherished time with her granddaughters and travelling to Boston or enjoying the sun during weekend boat rides with her grandsons on Lake McQueeney. Olga's kitchen on Kirk was open to anyone as she enjoyed cooking and baking for family, neighbors, friends, coworkers and fellow parishioners. Olga retired as a cosmetologist from Morningside Manor, where over the years she befriended many of her geriatric clients while styling them. She also dedicated her faithful service to the St. John Berchmans Catholic Church community for over 50 years, including as a member of the Guadalupanas until her health declined.
The family is deeply appreciative of the wonderful care provided by the dedicated and professional staff of Outreach Health and All County Home Health and Hospice.
