Olga T. Govea, beloved wife and mother entered rest on April 12th, 2025 at the age of 88 after a lengthy illness.  Born in Eagle Pass, Texas on March 23rd 1937 to Octaviano & Emilia Trevino, she was the youngest of seven children.   She was a 1955 graduate of San Antonio Tech High school where she met, and would later marry her high school sweetheart, Jesse.  Together, they journeyed through life for over 67 years, remaining faithful and trusting in the Lord.

A devout catholic throughout her life, she was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic church in the late 1960's and early 1970's serving as a volunteer in numerous positions in support of Girl scouts, parish festivals, youth group activities and numerous other parish events and activities.  She was later employed by the Archdioceses of San Antonio as an administrative assistant for several years.  She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic church from 1974 to 1997 where she also volunteered to assist with many parish activities and functions.

In 1997, she became an active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic church where she served as a Eucharistic minister and member of the Young at Heart club, helping to coordinate senior activities and events up until her illness no longer allowed her to do so.

A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother to her husband, 4 daughters and 10 grandchildren who she dearly loved and brought her much joy and happiness, she also enjoyed sewing as a talented seamstress, was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents Octaviano and Emilia, her siblings Eduardo, Octaviano Jr., Isabel, Mauro, Reynaldo & Elia, her devoted and loving in-laws Miguel and Rosa Govea as well as her son-in-law Albert Noble.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Jesse Govea, her daughters Rose Ramos, Gracie Chapa (Mario), Diana Noble and Linda Shaffer (Kenneth).  She is also survived by her 10 Grandchildren, Richard Ramos (Carrie), Michael Ramos (Claire), Michelle Tealer (Harrington), Chris Ramos (Amy), Xavier Chapa, Brian Noble, Brett Noble (Nicole), Brandon Noble (Jenna), Travis Shaffer (Katie) & Nicholas Shaffer. Lastly, she was blessed with, and is survived by her 8 Great-grandchildren, Makenzie & Evan Ramos, Noah Smith, Connor, Layla & Eliana Noble and Troy & Cole Shaffer.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Seasons Assisted living facility, Amanda and her compassionate staff who have cared for her over the last 2 years as her illness progressed and to the dedicated individual care providers who cared for her previously, Jessica, Yvonne, Lizeth, Anna & Yoli.  In addition, the family would like to thank the staff of VITAS hospice for their dedicated care and support as she embarked on her final journey home into the hands of the Lord.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Holy Rosary to be recited at 7pm on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 with visitation to begin at 5:30pm, Angelus Funeral home.   Mass of the resurrection will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd, at 11am, St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks Dr., San Antonio TX 78232 with reception/luncheon immediately following mass in the parish hall.  Graveside services and interment will be held at 2pm, San Fernando Cemetery #2.
