Norman Ruiz, 56, passed away November 9, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his father, Alvaro.  He is survived by his mother, Zulema, his brother, James, sister in law, Michelle, his nephew, Michael and many cousins.

Norman was born in San Antonio and was a graduate of Little Flower School, Central Catholic High School and St. Mary's University.  As a youth, he was active in the Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.  Norman was a Certified Public Accountant and worked as a Controller for Peripheral Vascular Associates.

Norman was active at Little Flower and St. Matthew churches and was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, just like his father.  He was a sports enthusiast and was devoted to the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers and Texas Longhorns.  Norman enjoyed good food, his dogs and had a wicked sense of humor with a memorable laugh.

Visitation will begin on Monday, November 21, at 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, November 22, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Matthew Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Norman's name to the San Antonio Humane Society .
