Norma Jean Colson passed away on December 24, 2025.  Norma was born in Gallup, New Mexico, July 1, 1947.  Her parents were Ambrose "Felix" Vorst and Minnie Catgenova Vorst.  Norma graduated from Grants High School in 1965.  She worked for Mountain Bell and AT&T for over 37 years.  Her job assignments included Gallup, New Mexico, Albuquerque, and Reno, Nevada.

Norma married Ronald Colson, August 9, 1969.  Norma and Ron loved RVing.  She and Ron spent many years traveling the United States and enjoying every minute.  After Ron passed away in 2008, Norma eventually left New Mexico and moved to San Antonio, Texas.  Norma had been a happy resident at The Village at Incarnate Word since May 2018.

Norma is survived by her sister, Mary Vorst Lockhart, and husband, Walter; also sister, Rafael Ann Plut and husband Tom of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Norma will be missed.  Her friendly manner and sense of humor will always bring a smile to those who knew her.

A mass for Norma will be held at Saint Joseph's Chapel at The Village at Incarnate Word at 11:30am in the morning.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Village at Incarnate Word.  Her remains will be taken to Albuquerque for burial.
