Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Nancy Jean Nichols (Tronnes), of Live Oak, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2025, after a short illness with cancer. She was 78.

Nancy was born on June 1, 1947, in Ada, Minnesota. Nancy was the 1st of 5 children of Irvet and Dorothy Tronnes.

Nancy was married for 55 years to her soulmate, Larry Nichols. Their first date, a blind date, was in November 1969 and after only 2 weeks of dating, they moved in together and soon after married on February 28, 1970.

Nancy was the heart of our home and family. She devoted her life to her husband and 2 children, Shaney Proske and Stacey (James) Harrison and her grandchildren, Dustin Proske, Ian and Emma Harrison.

Nancy found joy in preparing meals and as a former cake decorator, baking cakes for our birthdays. Her banana bread, Christmas sugar cookies and peach muffins were family favorites.

Nancy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her smile, her love of family, and her ability to make everyone feel cherished will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by husband, Larry Nichols; grandson, Ian Harrison; brothers, Gary, Steven and Randall Tronnes.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Shaney Proske and Stacey (James) Harrison; grandchildren Dustin Proske, Emma Harrison, Heather Jewett, and Brittany Sanders; and sister, Corinne Miller. As well as many friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.

She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, generous and beautiful woman who brought joy to our lives.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to The Angelus Funeral Home.
