Obituary

Mrs. Mildred Ruth Escobedo age 73 born in Lafayette, LA and moved to San Antonio in 1966, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Eloise Venable; and sister, Thelma Carter.

She is survived by her husband, C. Frank Escobedo; son, Stephen D. Escobedo and his wife Valeri (the daughter she always wanted); brother, Joseph Venable; grandchildren, Christopher Parra and his wife Carrie, Michael Parra and his wife Sara; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in both Texas and Louisiana.

Mildred was a legal secretary for many years. In her employment for Tinsman and Houser she was Mr. Tinsman's legal secretary where she drafted pleadings and interrogatories. Her responsibilities were numerous and she had an excellent understanding of the law. She later was employed by Southers and Lyons as a paralegal. Mildred was always willing to help others with legal problems and the family looked to her whenever they needed to find legal assistance.

Helping other family members went beyond legal assistance she was always willing to lend a hand and was especially fond of the children, praising and spoiling them. But her number one priority was her son, Stephen, whom she adored. Her nephews, nieces and family members all held her in high esteem.

She loved to travel and she enjoyed Las Vegas, The Caribbean and Puerto Vallarta but she especially loved the time spent in Louisiana where she was sure to visit all of her aunts and cousins.

A special thanks to the ALS foundation and the nurses at Northeast Baptist Hospital.

Frank and Mildred fell in love in 1966 and had just celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on June 24, 2016.
