Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Mildred Elizabeth Denzer (Liz), of San Antonio on Tuesday, August 8th, at the age of 70 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, John (Pat), her son, Shawn, and wife Melissa, and her daughter, Christina, and husband Joe. She was a devoted grandmother to Christian, Matthew, Michael, and Zachary and great-grandmother to Christian, Jr. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Jesse and Sally Wall, and sister, Sandra Lee.

Liz was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 20th, 1953. She spent most of her childhood in St. Louis, moving back to San Antonio after graduating from high school. In 1972, she was introduced to Pat by her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Betty. They knew they were meant for each other after dating for six weeks, and she married the love of her life. For the next fifty years, she devoted herself to her family. She was an avid supporter of her husband's profession in The United Air Force. She was an Officer in the NCO Wives Club and she would cook and deliver food to the Bomber Crews on Cockpit Alert on the flight line. She enjoyed watching her son Shawn play high school sports, college football, and eventually, as Coach Denzer, coaching high school football. She loved helping her daughter behind the scenes in her classroom preparation and hosting events throughout the years. She adored her grandsons, attended their sports events and extracurricular activities through the years, and took pride in their accomplishments. God and faith were her foundation. She and her husband would visit our Lord in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm and the rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday, August 21st, 2023, at The Angelus Funeral Home, 1119 N. St. Mary St. San Antonio, TX 78215.

A Requiem Mass will be held at 9:30 am, on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023 at Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church, 15415 Red Robin Road, San Antonio, TX 78255. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at BAMC for their care and compassion over the years.

Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
