Matias "Matt" William Garcia Jr., a loving father, son, brother, and Godson passed away on Tuesday, October 12 ^th , 2021 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 63.  Matt was preceded in death by his father, Matt Garcia and mother, Minnie D. Garcia. He is survived by his daughter, Monica M. Garcia; brother, David Garcia and sister-in-law, Elva Garcia; sisters, Cecilia Alanis and Cynthia Martinez and brother-in-law, Joe Martinez; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Matt attended Edison High School where he later graduated and continued on to University of Texas – Pan American.

Matt was a devout Catholic and attended Sunday mass with his mother every weekend and enjoyed serving as an Usher. He enjoyed family gatherings, watching Sunday games with friends, and relaxing with a crossword puzzle. His passion was his music. Matt played the guitar with such talent and played the piano beautifully, which was enjoyed by all who had the opportunity to hear him. He enjoyed the Arts throughout his life; music, poetry, art and film gave him joy as he dabbled in these fields through the years.

Matt used humor in everyday life. He always found a way to make people laugh. His quick wit and kindness will always be with us.  He is now in heaven with his father, mother and aunt Winnie, whom he always called his second mom.
