Our beloved mother Mary Helen Schumacher entered into eternal rest on April 30, 2023.
Mary was born on February 1, 1939 to Luciano and Trinidad D. Trevino, in San Antonio, Texas. In 1991 she met her husband Karl Schumacher and moved to Sandia, Texas where they owned Lagarto Store.
Our beloved mother had a very beautiful soul with a fun and feisty spirit. She loved to play pranks on people and constantly joking around. Mary loved her family, she was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.
Mary had many talents in drawing and painting. She was a civic leader within the community of Lagarto, Texas. She was employed as a social worker for the State of Texas for over 30 years and owned the Lagarto convenience store for 20 years. She did multiple fundraisers for the Shriners Children's Hospital and Halo Flight as well as the local fire department. Those who always asked, now know her real age 84, not the 39 she told everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luciano and Trinidad Trevino; son, Rudy James Rodriguez, and siblings, Lucille Garnett, Daniel Trevino and Albert Trevino.
She will be missed by her husband, Karl D. Schumacher; children, Martha Nunez (Carlos), Cynthia Ann Chavana (Ervin), John David Rodriguez; step-children, Jason Schumacher (Katherine) and Jennice Krutz (Richard); grandchildren, Matthew James Rodriguez, Kylie Rodriguez, Mattea Gonzalez, Trey Ervin Chavana, Kaiden Schumacher, Jameson Krutz; and great-grandson, Luke Maximus Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews.
