Mary Jane Nieto Diaz, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Godmother and friend to many, entered into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday November 7, 2023.  She was surrounded by her loving family in San Antonio, Texas.

Mary Jane was born at home in San Antonio, Texas on January 27, 1943, the only child of Severa C. Nieto and granddaughter of Rosa Cortez. She grew up on the West side of San Antonio in the Vista Verde neighborhood on S. Pecos.  She attended Fox Tech High School and graduated in 1961 afterwards she attended San Antonio College where she earned her associate's degree.

Shortly after graduating Mary Jane began her career in the secretary pool at City Public Service (CPS) in 1963 and worked her way up over the years to become the Executive Assistant to the General Manager.  Mary Jane retired from CPS in 2005 after 42 years of dedicated service.  During her professional life, Mary Jane was also a long-time member of the Mexican American Business and Professional Women's Association (MABPW) and was active as treasurer for the group.

Mary Jane was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and her devotion to her family was unwavering. She treasured her role as "Maw Maw," creating a special bond with her grandchildren that was filled with laughter, and an abundance of love.
