Mary Esther Rodriguez, our beautiful butterfly, was released and went to her heavenly home on Monday, Feb 16, 2015. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her parents Patricio and Victoria Rodriguez, brother and wife Ruben and Juana Rodriguez, sister and husband Annette and Roy Travers, niece and husband Amanda and Grant Ruedemann, nieces Marissa Rodriguez, Kaitlin Travers and Elizabeth Travers, nephew Vincent Rodriguez and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was a San Antonio native. She graduated from Burbank High School in 1977 and from University of the Incarnate Word's School of Nursing in 1997. Mary was a loving, giving, mighty woman of God. She was a faithful servant as a registered nurse for 17 years including work in pediatric oncology, hospice and inpatient case management. She had a beautiful smile. She loved to travel, liked creative cuisine and had such a joy for praise and worship of our Lord. Visitation will begin on Thursday, February 19, at 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, February 20, at 10:00 A.M. at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society Inc. or the American Diabetes Association.
