Mary Louise Esparza Flores, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the age of 72. She was born on Oct. 15, 1945, in San Antonio to Simon and Cleotilda Esparza.
The youngest of five siblings, Mary graduated in 1964 from Blessed Sacrament Academy in San Antonio. Two years later, on October 21, 1966, she married the love of her life, Jose R. Flores (Ray), a military man who served in the United States Air Force. Together, Mary and Ray raised three children and lived all over the world, including England, Alaska, Utah and California. During this time, Mary also worked for two decades as a Contract Administrator for the Department of Defense.
Eventually, the couple retired and settled in Fort Worth, Texas. Later, they built a house in nearby Cleburne, where Mary enjoyed hosting family gatherings and backyard pool parties. Mary also loved to travel and, in recent years, the couple purchased an RV to see the country. Their latest trip was back to Alaska. On October 21, 2017, just two weeks before Mary's death, the couple celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Simon Esparza, Elbert Esparza and Eddie Esparza. Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Ray; daughter Debra Molina and her husband, Oscar; daughter Kristine Torres and her husband, Miguel; and son Jose R.
