Our beautiful mother and grandmother, Mary E. Contreras of Poteet, Texas went to be with our Lord at the age of 78. Born on May 2, 1938, Mary was the last surviving child of Leonardo & Estella Martinez. Mary's parents, sister Lydia Martinez, brother Armando Martinez and her beloved pet Obie preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Randy Lee Contreras (Vicky), Rhonda Jean Villarreal (Eddie), Mark Anthony Contreras (Michelle) and Henry Contreras Jr.; her cherished grandchildren Erik (Alicia), Matthew, Rhianna, Abigail, Nathan, Joshua, Sabrina and Isabella; Goddaughter Veronica Martinez (Michael) and other loving family members and friends.

"Mamo", whose world revolved around her grandkids, will forever be remembered for the love she shared with her family and everyone who knew her. Although gone from this earth, she is not gone from our hearts.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at The Angelus Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
