Mary C. De La Garza, a very kind and sweet hearted woman. With a gentle smile and a soft voice. She was always smiling and never complained about any pain she was going through. The morning of January 09, 2026 she took her last breath surrounded by her daughters and loved ones. She is resting peacefully and will now join her late husband Rudy De La Garza whom she cared for and missed dearly.
Born on November 20, 1935, to Augustine and Romalda Canedo. Mary attended Fox Tech High. She was a candy striper at the hospital and wanted to become a nurse which was a dream that unfortunately never happened.
In 1956, Mary met Rudy V. De La Garza while working downtown San Antonio at S.H. Kress. They were married in September 1957, celebrating their 67th anniversary in 2024.
Mary is survived by her four daughters: Debra Sanchez (Bert), Cynthia Peña (Albert), Sylvia Saucedo (Martin), and Rebecca Aragon (Roland). She has been blessed with nine grandchildren: Clarice, Aaron, Alyssa, Andrew, Lauren, Ashley, Gabriel, Jennifer, and Albert Evan, and seven great-grandchildren: Andrew, Lucy, Sienna, Mikaela, Delilah, Madison, and Luca Rodolfo.
Mary will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a good friend. She is loved by so many and will be greatly missed. We will especially will miss her hugs and talks.
You are gone but never forgotten and will remain in our hearts forever.
