Martin Rodriguez's Obituary
Martin "La Tuba" Cortez Rodriguez, age 84, of San Antonio, went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 19, 2016. He was born in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Lanier High School in 1951. Martin proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. After serving his country, he worked at Kelly Air Force Base for 35 years, enjoying retirement for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin T. and Maria "Cuca" Rodriguez; brother, Deacon Johnny Rodriguez; and grandson, Joshua Flores. Martin is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary M. Rodriguez; daughter, Georgetta Flores; son, Martin A. Rodriguez; daughter, Annette R. Rangel and husband, Gilbert; sister, Aida Rodriguez; 7 grandchildren, Danielle Flores, Matthew G. Rangel, Joseph A. Rangel, Isaiah M. Rangel, Martin M. Rodriguez, Amberlynn Rodriguez, and Adrian R. Rodriguez; and the family pet, Molly.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 24, at 6:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday, May 25, at 10:00 AM at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2.
