Mario Alberto Martinez born October 19, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2022, in Minot, North Dakota. He was the youngest son of Benjamin and Mauricia (Quintero) Martinez.

A lifelong resident of San Antonio, Mario enjoyed visiting Colorado, taking family road trips to Destin, Florida, and going to catch a baseball game with his boys.  When he wasn't enjoying the outdoors, he was watching his favorite teams—The Pittsburgh Steelers, Cubs, Red Sox— or a golf tournament.  What mattered to him most was taking every opportunity to spend time with the people he loved.

Over the years he successfully provided for his family, instilled strong work ethic in his children, and the importance of education and advancement.  His favorite thing to tell us was that he was "always praying for us to have favor, increase, and promotion" throughout our lives.  No matter what we pursued, he wanted us to be passionate and fulfilled.

He will be missed by his children, Katherine (Crespin) Castillo, Aaron (Cynthia) Martinez, Paul Martinez and Alina Lundblade; his grandchildren, Alazayi, Sofia, Jordan, Aurora, Matthew, Mario and Eliza Castillo; Gabriel and Anthony Martinez, and Isabel Martinez; along with numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends, and his pets- Sabrina, Rita, and Gracie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mauricia and Benjamin Martinez, brothers: John and Benjamin Martinez, Jr; sister, Margaret Martinez.

One thing we will miss most about Dad was how he never went long without laughing or making someone laugh.  Nobody was a stranger to him.  And whoever he came across, his mission was to make them laugh.  In his memory we will laugh, and laugh often.
