Mr. Mario F. Fernandez age 86 of San Antonio died on Friday, May 2, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Fernandez; 2 sisters; and son-in-law, Juan Villarreal. Mario is survived by his wife of 59 years and caregiver, Evangeline Fernandez; children, JoAnn (Paul) Arjuijo, Diane Villarreal, Evangeline Rodriguez, Sylvia (Albert) Gomez, Liz (Ernest) Franco, and Sandra (Jose) Sepulveda; brothers, Saul Fernandez and Jaime (Magdalena) Fernandez; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his favorite pet chihuahua, Sugar. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 7, at 6:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at The Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, May 8, at 10:00 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2 with military honors. Family would like to give a special thank you to VITAS Team 554, Annie Polley, Luis Gonzalez, and KC Castaneda for all the care that they provided. Pallbearers will be Cesar Perez, Joey Alanis, Paul Edward Arjuijo, John Arjuijo, Albert Fernandez, and Eddie Martinez.
