Margarita T. Cantu, age 97, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo Cantu, and daughter, Margaret Sifuentes. Margarita is survived by her son, Rudy "Sonny" Cantu and wife, Sheri, and daughter, Mary Teresa Cortez (Ramon, deceased). She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Margarita graduated from Lanier High School where she was in the marching band, as well as President of the National Honor Society. That is where she met the love of her life, Rudy. Her life was dedicated to raising her family and to her Catholic faith. The many organizations she was involved in included Catholic Daughters of America, Sultanas, and the Guadalupanas. While her daughters attended Ursiline Academy, she was very involved in school activities. Rudy and Margaret traveled extensively, including several trips to the Holy Land. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, and baker. FUNERAL SERVICES Visitation will begin on Sunday, October 11, at 4:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 5:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, October 12, at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2. Reception will follow at St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
