Margaret G. Benavides was born October 30, 1917, and died October 28, 2017, at the age of 99. Margaret retired from Kelly Air Force Base in 1975.  She was a Pan American League founding member, a member and Treasurer of the Canary Islands Descendants Association, a member and Damas president in the Order of Granaderos and Damas de Gálvez, a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and its Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents Federico (Fred) Garcia, Edith Loftus Garcia, her loving husband, Antonio Gallardo Benavides, and son, Ralph A. Benavides. She is survived by her son, Robert M. Benavides (Sylvia), and grandchildren: Robert M. Benavides, Jr., Rochelle M. Benavides (Ken Fry), Rene Benavides, Rosanne Merriman (Roger), Ross Benavides (LeAnne), Ruth Adrienne Frost (Larry) and daughter-in-law, Yolanda G. Benavides. She is also lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, their families, cousins and many friends.
