Mr. Manuel Parra age 66 of San Antonio went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2014. Manuel was a retired sheetmetal worker from Local 67 and a collector of classic cars. He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Closner Alvizo and grandmother, Audelia Palomo Closner. Manuel is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gloria Parra; daughters: Melissa Christine Parra and Melinda Consuelo Parra-Rocha (Richard); sister, Sylvia Jurasin (John), Janie Alvizo; brother, Richard Alvizo (Lisa); brothers-in-law: Richard Salazar and Reynaldo Salazar (Margaret); grandchildren: Manuel C. Rocha and Giavanna Y. Rocha; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and step-siblings. Visitation will begin Monday at 4:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday at 9:45 A.M. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cancer Care Center-South Texas for the care given to Manuel.
