Manuel M. "Sidewalk Sam" Noin, born in Eagle Pass, Texas, died in San Antonio on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the age of 87. He served in the US Navy as a Navy Seaman 2nd Class Apprentice. He later worked for the railroad, car business, and retired as a hubcap storeowner after 22 years of business. Sam was also co-owner of the Bijou Club on San Pedro. He was a golfer at heart and loved a good game of pool. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Genara (Castaneda) Noin; brothers, Fernando and Oscar Noin; son, Maxwell Curtis "Maxie" Noin; grandson, Joshua Wright; and brothers in law, Frank Ariste and Frank Lopez. Sam is survived by his loving companion, Carolyn; children, Michael Noin (Malinda) of Spring Branch, Linda Noin Blackburn of San Antonio, Samantha Noin Brantley (Kelly) of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Justin Noin (Meagan) of Reno, Nevada; step daughter, Shelia Gates (Mark) of Pleasanton, Texas; sisters, Victoria Lopez, Carmen Ariste, and Socorro Dutra; grandchildren, Clayton (Lacey), Sammy Aaron, Crystal (Jason) Tillman, Jennifer (Matthew) Goss, LaKesha Wright, Ethan and Ella Noin, Carolyn Haney, Emily Ferrell, Dustin (Sara) Ferrell, Alexis Haney, and Skyler Moore; great grandchildren, Lily, Michael, Sierra, Justin, Clay, Levi, Savanah, Trinity, Logan, Isabella, Greyson, Cloey, Bobbi Ann, Dustin, Jaymi, and Athena; a host of nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Franny Clark. FUNERAL SERVICES Visitation will begin on Monday, September 28, at 5:00 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 29, at 10:00 AM at the Angelus Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
